Welcome to the Crossroads…

Of nature and culture, mind and body, ego and soul. Warm your mist-chilled fingers around this campfire that never goes out, nestled between lichenized stones. Sit down on the sheepskins, take a sip for those old ancestral bones, and pour some to the hungry earth beneath your feet.

I’m Simon Yugler.

I’m an internationally experienced psychedelic therapist, educator, and the author of the book, Psychedelics & the Soul: A Mythic Guide to Psychedelic Healing, Depth Psychology, and Cultural Repair.

I’ve taught for five psychedelic facilitator training programs including Naropa University and Inner Trek, a pioneering psilocybin facilitator training program for the country’s first state-regulated model for psychedelic healing. In every aspect of my work, I draw upon my experience learning from Indigenous cultures, including the Shipibo ayahuasca tradition and the Native American Church. For a year-and-a-half I routinely served as a retreat leader with MycoMeditations, a leading psilocybin therapy retreat center in Jamaica.

Prior to getting my masters degree in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, I served as an experiential educator and guide with National Geographic and Carpe Diem Education, leading immersive study-abroad journeys for young adults across 10 countries. Currently living near the confluence of the White Salmon and Columbia rivers, I am passionate about helping my clients navigate and make relations with the liminal wilds of the soul.

Why join me?

Maybe you’ve read my book and are interested in going deeper. Maybe you’ve just stumbled in from the liminal realm and are hungry for ways to make sense of what you found there. Either way, I’m glad you’re here.

Though not a substitute for that real hearth-fire we crave in our bones, I created this community as a way to wonder together about the topics that are the most alive in me:

  • Depth Psychology: How can the study of the soul, and a lived understanding of archetypes, the shadow, and the legacy of Carl Jung help us live a deeper and more meaningful life? How can we integrate a mythopoetic perspective into our work and world?

  • Psychedelic Healing & Facilitation: How can we better understand, critique, and explore soulful, ethical, and authentic practices of psychedelic healing? What might a mythopoetic lens have to say about the unfolding “psychedelic renaissance?”

  • Mythology: How might a deeper knowledge of story, the mythic inheritance of human culture, aid us in this precarious moment of unravelling narratives?

  • Animism: How can we be in right relationship with the more-than-human world, our place on the planet, and the needs of the natural world?

  • Cultural Repair: How can we begin to fix something most of us have never really known? What does it mean to belong, or not belong, to a people and a place? And what ancestral plants might sprout from the graves of the ancestors who long to know our names?

There are only a handful of people I would willingly go to the underworld with. Simon is one of those people.
